Tirschenreuth Presents Its Own Mug – Playful, Charming, and Uniquely Upper Palatinate

On May 18, 2025, as part of the Upper Palatinate Day celebrations in Tirschenreuth, a new highlight for all lovers of local heritage was unveiled: the Tirschenreuth Mug. This lovingly designed collector’s piece combines regional identity with creative design.

Created by Upper Palatinate designer Fabian Neugirg (kpunktart) and produced by the family-owned company Seltmann Weiden, the mug brings the spirit of the region straight to the breakfast table. With charmingly illustrated motifs such as the Himmelsleiter (Heaven’s Ladder), the Zoigl beer tradition, the steamroller (Hammwalze), and the Kappl pilgrimage church, it invites you to discover the special character of the district with your morning coffee. Playful surprises and witty details make it a true collector’s item.

The choice of motifs was developed together with local residents: through social media, people could submit suggestions, which were then refined in cooperation with the Tirschenreuth district administration. In this way, the mug reflects the diversity and pride of the region.

The Tirschenreuth Mug is another step in the series of district mugs designed to showcase the variety of the Upper Palatinate in a warm and approachable way. The long-term plan is for every district and independent city in the region to have its own individually designed mug.

With the Tirschenreuth Mug, the bond to one’s homeland is brought to life in a creative and humorous way – a true must-have for all fans of the Upper Palatinate.
