YEARS FAMILY-OWNED

Deeply rooted in Eastern Bavaria and grown over four generations, we are a family-owned company that combines traditional values with a modern, forward-looking mindset. Our two production sites form the vibrant heart of our company, where every single piece of porcelain is created with the utmost precision and dedication – consistently Made in Germany, with a clear focus on quality and innovation. No compromises: we completely refrain from purchasing externally produced porcelain or ceramic ware.

Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann GmbH is among the most advanced porcelain manufacturers in Europe. With around 700 employees and more than 120 KUKA robots, we set benchmarks in efficiency and precision. Every month, between 1.3 and 1.5 million porcelain items are produced and shipped worldwide. This unique combination of cutting-edge technology and traditional craftsmanship ensures first-class quality and prepares our porcelain for the challenges of the future.

Unlike large, anonymous corporate structures where economic efficiency often takes precedence, we live a clear philosophy as a family business: we stand for responsibility, direct communication, and close relationships with our employees and customers—values that are reflected in every product we create. Our decisions are made with foresight and passion, building trust and forming a sustainable foundation for long-term quality.

Our porcelain is designed to accompany generations—robust, durable, and timeless in its beauty. Choosing our products means supporting genuine craftsmanship while strengthening a resilient regional economy built on transparency and mutual respect. This commitment is reflected in the exceptional value of our collections, defined by reliability and consistency—a conscious choice for long-lasting investments that offer far more than fleeting moments.

This is how porcelain is created that inspires not only today, but tomorrow and for years to come—developed, produced, and lived in a region renowned for quality and sustainable innovation.

Carreers at Seltmann Weiden

As a family-owned group now in its fourth generation, we bring together more than 250 years of experience in porcelain manufacturing. Today, as a global player, we export to countries all over the world—after all, good taste knows no borders.

As one of the few porcelain manufacturers operating internationally, we offer an exceptionally broad range of production expertise: from high-tech manufacturing in one of Europe’s most advanced porcelain factories to pure, traditional craftsmanship.

Training Kickoff for Five New Apprentices at SELTMANN WEIDEN

A new chapter begins: On September 1, 2025, five motivated young talents started their apprenticeships at SELTMANN WEIDEN. Four are based in Weiden, and one in Erbendorf. With a total of 25 apprentices now in training, the traditional company is sending a clear signal: it continues to invest in the future of the region.

The new apprentices are starting in three different professions: two industrial clerks, two electronics technicians for industrial engineering, and one industrial mechanic for maintenance. Over the next few years, they will gain practical experience in various departments and build valuable skills for their future careers.

Supporting young talent is a top priority at SELTMANN WEIDEN. Experienced professionals as well as mentors from higher apprenticeship years guide and support the newcomers to ensure a strong start to their working lives. The company’s goal is to offer many of its apprentices permanent positions after successful completion of their training.
